Wild Hogs is about four middle-aged men suffering from a midlife crisis. The character played by John Travolta (Woody) is getting divorced and running out of money fast, Tim Allen (Doug) is a father suffering from high cholesterol levels and looking for respect from his child, William H. Macy (Dudley) is a computer programmer looking for a relationship, and Martin Lawrence (Bobby) is a plumber who is constantly being bossed around by his wife. To help “rediscover†themselves they form a biker gang known as the Wild Hogs and they set out across the country in the hope of adventure.
The plot is somewhat ridiculous, but the all star cast does a great job pulling it off. The Wild Hogs constantly run into awkward and downright unlikely situations - like encountering a homosexual police officer on several occasions and just happening to find a small town amidst the desert when they run out of fuel during their journey. The story revolves around an accident caused by John Travolta that he does not tell his cohorts about which ultimately leads the group into a few very dangerous situations.
Overall, this is not one of the best comedy movies ever produced, but it is a fairly good way to waste a few hours while having a good time. The blu-ray also contains a few nice extras such as deleted scenes and outtakes (some of which are more funny than some of the events in the movie). If you like the main actors in the movie it is definitely worth a rental, but I would not recommend adding it your permanent collection.
