I was browsing the video rentals in my local Blockbuster and I noticed this awesome looking cover art. I decided to rent it and here is my review :)

The story takes place in a war torn future in which all of humankind is destroyed by a man made AI robot. To summarize the basic plot a scientist develops a robot with AI to help humanity but his plans go awry when the robot is corrupted by an evil dictator who lies to the scientist and turns his robot into a war machine. :( The end result is an evil AI robot who turns on the dictator and decides to fight humankind to extinction.

The main story of the movie builds on this introduction and warps you to the final days of mankind. The scientist (who unwillingly destroyed humankind due to the AI robot he created) decides to transfer his soul to "9" little "sack" creatures who each contain a different element of his personality.

The plot was a bit of a letdown and the ending was especially disappointing but I will not ruin it for you :)

The graphics and sound was the best elements of this film. The music is fantastic, the voice acting is superb. The all-star voice cast (Jennifer Connelly, Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer etc) were especially astounding at bringing these characters to life. The sound effects are amazing and hearing them on a 5.1 surround sound system was exhilarating.

For the first time ever I decided to watch the extras and I did enjoy the "short film" upon which the movie was based. The commentary was also very good. All in all the extras provided a lot of valuable behind the scene info on the film.

Overall view this movie for the graphics and sound (Ie. Production values) and not the plot. So So movie :(
