Sub-Terrania is a shooting game that takes place entirely underwater and under the ground on a planet currently being used as an off-world mining platform for humans. You control an attack fighter through nine varied levels each with distinct mission objectives – such as eliminating hostile aliens and rescuing surviving miners.
The attack fighter itself is able to pick up various powerups such as increased shields. The game has amazing controls for a shooter – you can maneuver the attack fighter with pinpoint accuracy. Your ship and the enemies look great as well, especially the large, detailed bosses. My only complaints are that the game has next to no discernible sound effects (however, the accompanying music is amazing with its deep tones) and the rather steep difficulty of the game which made it somewhat of a chore to play. One of the better shooters of its time.
