I booted up this old cd rom after remembering how much fun I had playing it a few years ago, so I decided to write a review to encourage other chess players to check out this old game.

Virtual Chess contains some very nice graphics and some nice challenging gameplay. The game has two 3d boards and two 2d boards to choose from as well as varying difficulty options and you can adjust how long you and the computer have to make your move. The game is very nice for the average chess player with significant experience who wants a decent challenge.

The one aspect I wish the developers had improved upon was to add some music and some better sound effects. Overall it is a decent no frills chess game which emphasizes gameplay challenge over pizazz. This is a definite play for any serious chess gamer.
