The great NBA Jam has returned, but this time to the iPhone :). I loved playing this game back in the 90s in the arcade and on the home consoles and I always had hoped the developers would update the series for current gen systems. I was lucky in that the game was just released on home consoles but I was even happier when I saw that the game was available on the apple marketplace.

The game features some very fun gameplay, excellent graphics and nice music and sound and all for only five dollars :). EA somehow managed to get all the players from the console version into this game which I found unbelievable.

The gameplay modes are also present such as campaign mode, 2 on 2, challenge modes etc. The controls are smooth and intuitive and I found the virtual controls to be problem free. The graphics and sound are simply amazing, everything is smooth and the sound effects are great (especially the voice acting).

The main negative I have with this game is no 2 player option :( This is a real shame as the multiplayer aspect is really what makes the NBA jam series so fun. I am assuming this is why the game has a low 5 dollar price point, but this is a pretty huge omission and knocks the score down a bit. Overall though this game is awesome and I really do recommend it based on the gameplay and graphics alone.
