This book aims to help women that are pregnant with their diets. The author begins by explaining how its difficult to eat healthy when pregnant while at the same time the reason you want to eat healthy is because you are pregnant. During my first pregnancy I was finding it very difficult "not to cheat" on my diet so I picked up this book.

The best part of this book are the numerous recipes that are provided by the author. These recipes feature healthier alternatives to classic dishes that include more fiber, less fat, less sugar, etc. while still tasting delicious. The recipes are also well-balanced so that you get the recommended number of vitamins and minerals each day.

The only downside regarding this book is that some of the recipes are bit on the complex/time-intensive side and some contain hard to find ingredients which, as many of you know, is definitely not a good thing. Often I found myself unable to locate the ingredients and had to make suitable replacements (which no doubt through some of the daily recommend nutrients out of whack). Also, this does not apply to me directly, but I am sure many women are strictly vegetarian and it would have been nice if more vegetarian recipes were included.

While the basis of the book is very obvious to most (i.e. eat healthier while you are pregnant) the structure of the book and the wonderful recipes provided within are the reasons why you should check it out. The book may also prove useful to those who aren't pregnant and just want to eat healthier.
